Apple engineers worked with two U.S.-based robotics and automation firms, MWES in Wisconsin and K2 Kinetics in Pennsylvania, to build production equipment for the Carlsbad factory, said Sharples.
“They shipped it out to us, I think it was six weeks from receiving Apple’s final design,” he said. “Six weeks after that, we were making product, which is unheard of.”
